Many teachers leave pronunciation as an optional extra because they’re not sure how to approach it; course books over the years have offered little solid advice on pronunciation work. In general working on pronunciation has been a matter of ‘listen and repeat’ but that may not be the most effective way to achieve accuracy in pronunciation. This session is designed to offer much more than the standard techniques and will also present games and activities which can be used to support ongoing pronunciation work.

Aims: to offer teachers some practical ways to help their students’ pronunciation.
